ANDREW HOWELL JAILED FOR 18 YEARS AFTER CHILD RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN WISBECH
A vile rapist has been jailed after committing a catalogue of child sex offences.Wisbech man Andrew Howell, 37, has been sentenced to 18 years behind bars for offences that took place around the Wisbech and Kings Lynn areas between 2021 and 2023.
He was charged in July 2024 with the following: • 13 counts of sexual activity with a child • One count of rape of a child • Two counts of attempted rape of a child • Three counts of making indecent photographs of children • Five counts of inciting sexual activity with a child.
His first court appearance was in August 2024, and he stood trial between December 1-10 last year at Peterborough Crown Court.
Howell was found guilty and sentenced at the same court last Wednesday, where he was also placed on the sex offenders register for life.
He moved from Fenland to Llandudno in Wales before proceedings begun.
He is believed to have coached gymnastics and football to children in Wisbech, but it is unclear if his offences were related to those roles.
