TRANENT CHEF SENT EXPLICIT VIDEOS OF HIMSELF TO CO-WORKERS
A CHEF who recorded explicit videos of himself performing sex acts and then sent the images to women he worked with has been sentenced to a community payback order.Reegan Price has been ordered to carry out 144 hours of unpaid work and will be supervised by the local social work department for the next two years as punishment for the offending.
Price, of Coalgate Avenue, Tranent, also had his name added to the sex offenders' register for two years when he appeared for sentencing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.
The kitchen worker had previously pleaded guilty to offences of intentionally causing two women to look at sexual images by repeatedly sending videos of him engaging in a sex act carried out between November 2024 and May last year.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told that 22-year-old Price had contacted one woman on the Snapchat app and sent her an indecent video clip of himself at about 3am on November 16, 2024.
He subsequently sent her “five or six” videos of “a similar nature” of him engaging in a sex act.
The victim was described as being “disgusted” by the images and blocked Price's account.
The court heard that the second woman received messages from Price at about 6am on April 24 last year and, over the following two hours, he sent several explicit videos of himself.
Prosecutor Gillian Koren said: “A third video of the same nature was sent.
The witness could hear the male’s voice and identified the voice as the accused.” Ms Koren said that a further explicit video clip was posted to the woman at about 11.24am that featured Price.
The two women were friends and, after speaking about their experiences, they reported the matter to the police.
Solicitor Joseph Boyd, representing Price, said that his client had never been in trouble with the police before and thought the videos he sent would have been "received in a different manner” by the women.
Mr Boyd said: “It has obviously been a catastrophic misjudgement that my client has made in the context of him trying to impress them.”
