GREENOCK MAN CALLED PARTNER A 'TRAMP' AFTER SHE CHECKED HIS PHONE
Reegan Kelly, 29, was ‘extremely intoxicated’ at his then partner’s house and became verbally abusive towards the woman during the incident on November 5.Greenock Sheriff Court heard that when the woman tried to get Kelly to calm down, he said ‘you can get anyone you want, I will wreck this place and nobody will stop me’.
The court heard that Kelly and the woman were in a relationship for just over a year at the time of the incident.
The procurator fiscal said Kelly was in the living room at the woman’s address and appeared extremely intoxicated.
He became verbally abusive towards the woman, stating similar to; ‘we were meant to be having a good night and you’re ruining it’.
Kelly stormed out of the house leaving his belongings, and the woman picked up his phone when it buzzed.
Kelly returned and became verbally abusive, saying ‘Are you checking my phone, you tramp?
You’ll see what happens’.
He left the property but came back at 9pm playing loud music, which woke the woman.
The fiscal added that the woman pleaded with Kelly to calm down, reminding him that children were upstairs and her sister was next door.
Kelly left again, but returned, shouting and throwing household items, and making threats to the woman.
Police attended but Kelly had already left the scene.
He was later traced, cautioned, charged, and made no reply.
He pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, shouting and swearing, acting aggressively and disorderly, and uttering threats and offensive remarks towards his partner.
