EVIL RAPIST WHO LURED TEEN BOYS FROM DATING APPS BEFORE ATTACKING IS JAILED
A man who intentionally lured a teenage boy he had contacted on a dating app to his residence, where he subjected the boy to repeated sexual assaults, has been sentenced to prison.Reece Clay, aged 26 and residing in Ovenden Green, Halifax, was convicted after attacking two adolescent males in multiple heinous incidents.
During the period of these offenses, Clay posted a disturbing message on social media stating: "Manchester bound.
Lock up your twinks." Leeds Crown Court was told on Friday that while he was being investigated for initial charges, Clay traveled abroad to the Dominican Republic and was detained at the airport upon returning to the UK.
Prosecutor Richard Holland explained to the court that Clay’s misconduct began when he invited a 17-year-old boy to meet him and friends for drinks in Leeds.
The boy testified that he spent several hours with Clay and others, drinking.
He reported that he had been drinking beforehand and was sexually assertive from the beginning.
Clay originally planned to take a train home but convinced the boy to visit his flat near the Armouries for a takeaway meal, promising to arrange a taxi for him later.
He also told the boy multiple times not to answer calls from his parents.
When the boy attempted to leave around 11pm, Clay blocked the door and physically forced him into his bedroom, the court heard.
The court further revealed that Clay tore the young man's T-shirt before sexually assaulting and raping him.
The following morning, the boy left without key belongings, which his mother was advised to retrieve without knowledge of the assault.
The judge stated that Clay initially appeared to be acting kindly by inviting the boy for breakfast, but then manipulated him into sexual acts, including a rape where Clay threatened, "You do as I say." Details indicated that Clay subjected the boy to violent assaults, including strangulation and rape, at times hitting him with kitchen trays.
The victim managed to escape and later reported the abuse to police, who found indecent images of children and the boy on Clay’s phone during a raid.
The victim disclosed the abuse he endured, stating his life has been affected by the trauma, including developing a fear of men and experiencing difficulties in personal relationships.
Despite being released under investigation to work abroad, Clay was re-arrested and denied the charges, which led to him being convicted on multiple counts, including rape, sexual assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of indecent images.
The court sentenced Clay to 20 years imprisonment and ordered him to register as a sex offender for life.
