MAN KEPT TABS ON EX’S MOVEMENTS AND ATTACKED HER IN HER CAR
Piotr Borys, aged 49, was involved in a series of abusive behaviors towards his former partner.He suspected her of having an affair and threatened to leak private images to her friends and colleagues.
The court heard that Borys attacked his ex-girlfriend in her car after a housewarming party in October 2022, grabbing her by the neck and hair, pushing her head onto the steering wheel, and striking her on the head.
During the incident, he also kicked her and pulled her clothing.
The attack resulted in reddening of her neck.
Borys was also found to have kept close tabs on her movements, used her bank details to make online purchases, and threatened to expose her private messages.
In one episode, he threatened a man he believed was her new partner, claiming to have obtained images of him and stating, "Today your family and everyone at work will receive these photos," which caused the man to feel intimidated.
The following morning, Borys called the man to apologize and expressed regret for his actions.
He admitted that his behavior was out of character and claimed he had lost his temper to obtain a confession from his ex-partner.
The court considered this to be a one-off incident and ordered Borys to pay a fine of £940, which he will pay back at £100 per month.
The sheriff expressed doubt that Borys would ever face the courts again with such behavior, highlighting it as an out-of-character case.
