LOCKWOOD SEX PERVERT PETER STAFFORD-SIMPSON CONVICTED OF STRING OF CRIMES
A PERVERT who stripped naked and performed sex acts in front of teenage girls has been found guilty of a string of sexual offences.Peter Stafford-Simpson, 47, was convicted by a jury of 18 sexual offences against teenage girls between 2006 and 2011, including sex with a child.
He was cleared of three counts of raping a 15-year-old girl but warned he faces a substantial jail sentence.
Stafford-Simpson, of Fenton Road, Lockwood, showed no emotion as the verdicts were passed, but his mother wept in the gallery.
The court heard he performed sex acts in front of the girls aged 13 to 16 and sometimes gave them money to watch.
In at least one incident, witnesses described how he stripped naked and danced with an MP3 player between his legs.
He also repeatedly met a 15-year-old girl at a workers’ shelter in Paddock, lying on bin bags and having sex with her.
She fell pregnant and had an abortion.
He booked a room under the name Tony at a B&B in Manchester Road, Huddersfield, and was later identified by the former manager.
Crucial phone evidence linked him to the victims.
Phone records showed his phone contacted one victim more than a thousand times in three months.
He also had the girls' numbers stored in his phones, and taxi records under his real name.
He was spotted in Lockwood dressed as a postman nearly two years after the incidents, when he performed a sex act in front of victims in Dewsbury.
Police expect him to be sentenced on Thursday, March 28.
After the case, Detective Adrian Lever expressed hope that the conviction will bring closure for the victims, who showed courage in court.
The investigation started after reports of a sexually explicit image on a girl’s phone.
The court heard Stafford-Simpson claimed mistaken identity, denying any contact with the girls, but evidence pointed otherwise.
