PETER CHIVERTON FROM CAMBERLEY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF BOYS IN THE 1990S
In a case that has shocked the community of Camberley, Peter Chiverton, a 53-year-old resident of Upper College Ride, was convicted of a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against two young boys during the early to mid-1990s.The crimes, which spanned over a period of six years, involved grooming, indecent assaults, and gross indecency, and have now resulted in a significant prison sentence.
Chiverton appeared before Guildford Crown Court on July 15, where he was handed a sentence of nine and a half years behind bars.
The court also mandated that he be registered on the sex offenders register for life, reflecting the severity and nature of his crimes.
The charges against Chiverton included two counts of indecent assault on boys under the age of 16 and 14, respectively, as well as six counts of gross indecency involving boys under the age of 14.
