MONTROSE STALKER PETER CAMPBELL JAILED AFTER FLOUTING COMMUNITY SERVICE ORDER
Serial stalker Peter Campbell has been jailed after flouting his community service order given three years ago.Campbell, aged 54 and of Ramsay Street, had previously been sentenced to unpaid work when a home CCTV system installed by his victim caught him lurking around her home and pouring liquid on her vehicle.
Campbell appeared again at Forfar Sheriff Court to explain why he had only completed one hour of his more than 200 hours of community service ordered since 2020.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis sarcastically thanked Campbell for his 'clearly busting a gut' effort and sent him to prison for eight months.
Campbell's first victim, a former partner, noticed mess on her car and believed it was seagull droppings.
She had known Campbell was lurking around her home, so she installed a CCTV system, which footage showed Campbell visiting on several nights in May 2020, pouring a liquid over her car and spitting on her bedroom window.
Another incident involved Campbell leaving a drunken note in her letterbox, saying 'Why?
I will see you in court.
X', breaching strict bail conditions not to contact her and violating a curfew by wandering outside his home at 1.55 am in April of the previous year.
Sheriff Foulis expressed his displeasure at Campbell's failure to complete his community payback order, which had been imposed in January of that year, sarcastically noting Campbell's minimal effort and repeated breaches over two and a half years.
The sheriff emphasized that Campbell was given numerous opportunities but failed to comply, warranting imprisonment.
