KIRKBY-IN-ASHFIELD MAN JAILED 23 YEARS FOR BRUTAL PARTNER MURDER
A 41-year-old man from Gleneagles Drive, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, named Pawel Lupa, was convicted of murdering his partner, Aleksandra Mrozik, 47, at their home in a brutal assault.
The court characterized the attack as frenzied, callous, and driven by alcohol, with Lupa showing no regard for her safety.
Evidence at the trial revealed that he used a meat cleaver and a knife to fatally stab Ms.
Mrozik in the chest and arm, causing her death shortly after paramedics attended the scene and she was taken to hospital.
Lupa was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 23 years for her murder, and he received an additional concurrent 12-year prison term for attempting to kill Wojcek Bocek, 32.
The judge condemned his actions as ruthless, remarking, “You did not make any effort to assist or comfort Aleksandra after the attack.” The court also pointed out that Lupa had shown total disregard for her welfare during the violent assault and was convicted of both murder and attempted murder.
