MUHITTIN DOGAN FROM KIRKBY-IN-ASHFIELD JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN NOTTINGHAM
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Muhittin Mucahid Dogan, aged 21, has been sentenced to prison after engaging in a series of sexual communications and exchanges involving a young girl.The incident, which came to light in October 2021, involved Dogan manipulating and pressuring an 11-year-old girl into sending explicit images of herself through social media platforms.
According to police reports, Dogan initially met the girl on a social media app, where he began a conversation that quickly took a sinister turn.
Doubting her initial claim of being 17 years old, Dogan insisted on playing a game of ‘truth or dare’ with her.
During this game, the girl falsely claimed to be 13, which was still two years older than her actual age.
Despite this, Dogan continued to engage with her, claiming to be a 14-year-old boy, and ultimately pressured her into sending nude photographs.
Further compounding his misconduct, Dogan sent the girl a sexually explicit image of himself.
The girl’s family became concerned when they discovered the exchanges and subsequently contacted the police.
Law enforcement officials traced Dogan through his phone number and arrested him.
During a detailed examination of his device, authorities uncovered evidence of additional inappropriate conversations with another teenage girl, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior.
During police interviews, Dogan claimed that he was unaware of the first girl’s true age when he initiated contact in February 2020.
He refused to answer questions regarding the other victim but later admitted to multiple charges, including two counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child, three counts of creating and possessing indecent images of a child, and one count of distributing an indecent photo of a child.
The charges related to the images involved saving the explicit photographs on his electronic devices.
On Tuesday, October 26, at Nottingham Crown Court, Dogan was sentenced to two years in prison.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of ten years, requiring him to undergo strict monitoring and supervision upon his release.
The case has raised serious concerns about online safety and the exploitation of minors, prompting authorities to emphasize the importance of vigilance in digital interactions involving young people.
