PAUL WOOD FROM HAVERFORDWEST JAILED AGAIN FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND COURT ORDER VIOLATIONS

In a significant development at Swansea Crown Court, Paul Adam Wood, a 50-year-old resident of Haverfordwest, has been sentenced to prison once more following a series of serious breaches of a court-imposed order and the discovery of disturbing material on his devices.

Wood's criminal history includes a previous conviction in 2003 for indecent assault on a female, which marked the beginning of his troubled relationship with the law.

In 2009, Dyfed-Powys police successfully applied for a sexual offences prevention order against him, a measure that was granted by Haverfordwest magistrates with no expiration date, effectively restricting his access to certain technology and behaviors.

Prosecutor Kevin Jones outlined to Swansea Crown Court that the order explicitly prohibited Wood from using computers capable of internet access or possessing cameras.

Despite these restrictions, authorities uncovered evidence that Wood had enrolled in a college course, during which he was provided with a laptop to facilitate his studies.

This development prompted a police raid on his residence and another property, where officers seized multiple electronic devices, including computers, memory sticks, mobile phones, and cameras.

Analysis of these items revealed a disturbing collection of indecent images, including photographs and videos depicting child abuse, as well as extreme pornography.

Wood admitted to twice breaching the sexual offences prevention order, and further investigations uncovered a total of 30 offences related to the creation, possession, and distribution of indecent images of children, along with possession of extreme pornography.

Among the most alarming findings was a film depicting a child being raped, alongside images involving bestiality.

During the course of the investigation, Wood voluntarily approached police officers at a station, claiming homelessness and providing information about where additional illegal material could be found on the internet.

This admission further implicated him in the ongoing criminal activity.

Representing Wood, his barrister Chris James argued that his client was in need of help, stating, “He needs help.

His family has turned against him.” Judge Peter Heywood sentenced Wood to 14 months in prison and issued a lifelong ban preventing him from working with children or vulnerable adults, emphasizing the severity of his violations and the danger posed by his actions.
