PAUL WAREING FROM PADIHAM SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES IN BURNLEY
In April 2011, a disturbing case unfolded in Burnley involving a man from Padiham, Paul Wareing, who was convicted of serious sexual offenses against a young girl.Wareing, aged 60 at the time, was found guilty of molesting a primary school-aged girl after luring her with an ice cream in an attempt to distract her.
The incident, which took place on February 25, involved Wareing engaging in sexual acts with the young victim and explicitly instructing her not to disclose what had happened.
According to court reports, Wareing believed he could get away with his actions, but his plan unraveled when the child's mother, out playing with her daughter, went to look for her and discovered her pedal cycle nearby.
Concerned, she searched further and found her daughter, who appeared upset.
The mother then took immediate action, leading to the child's disclosure that Wareing had touched her inappropriately.
