PADIHAM MAN JAILED FOR STAMPING ON EX'S HEAD AFTER MOBILE PHONE ROW
A man named Brett Holder, aged 27, was involved in a serious assault on his ex-partner.
The incident occurred on December 19, when Holder, after a dispute over her refusing to let him see her mobile phone, became violent.
According to prosecuting lawyer Stephen Parker at Preston Crown Court, Holder asked to see the victim's phone and when she refused, he reacted with anger and hit her with the palm of his hand during a tussle.
The situation escalated, and Holder then went upstairs to her bedroom, where he stomped on the back of her head while he still had his shoes on.
Additionally, he grabbed her by the hair and uttered some words, though she could not recall what was said.
This assault also breached a suspended sentence Holder was under since January 2024, which related to previous domestic violence.
The court heard that Holder had been drinking and using Class A drugs at the time.
His previous conduct involved an incident in 2021 where he assaulted an Asian taxi driver by grabbing him from behind, covering his eyes, and trying to pour beer down his throat while the driver was operating his vehicle.
Holder was sentenced then to a 12-month community order, with 10 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and 250 hours of unpaid work.
The judge, Recorder Kevin Slack, sentenced Holder to 3 months for the recent assault and activated 15 months of his previous suspended sentence, totaling 18 months of imprisonment.
A five-year restraining order was also issued, preventing Holder from contacting the victim or entering her street in Padiham.
