HURLFORD MAN PUT BEHIND BARS AFTER THREATENING FORMER PARTNER WITH VIOLENCE
A Hurlford man has been sentenced to time in prison after he admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner towards his former partner.Paul Sawyers, 33, was handed a five-month jail term following a brief appearance at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, September 7.
It followed a guilty plea to one offence which occurred between April 12 and June 18 of this year at an address in Kilmarnock.
Sawyers admitted that he behaved in a threatening or abusive way that was likely to cause his ex-partner fear or alarm.
He did so by repeatedly contacting her on her mobile phone and uttering threats of violence along with offensive remarks.
Additionally, Sawyers was issued a non-harassment order, which will remain in effect for two years.
