PAUL JACKSON FROM WATFORD PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD SEX ABUSE IMAGE CHARGES IN ST ALBANS
In a significant development at the St Albans Crown Court, Paul Jackson, a 65-year-old resident of Essex Road in Watford, has admitted to multiple serious charges related to the possession and distribution of indecent images of children.The charges stem from a period spanning from November 2005 to May of this year, highlighting a lengthy history of alleged offenses.
Jackson appeared before the court via a video link from Bedford jail, where he has been held in custody since his arrest.
During the hearing, he pleaded guilty to a total of 26 charges, which included the arrangement of child abuse images, the distribution of Category C images depicting children, and the creation of indecent images in the form of movies.
Additionally, he admitted to possessing over 75,000 child sex abuse images, a staggering number that underscores the severity of the allegations.
The charges against Jackson also encompassed possession of prohibited images of children, extreme pornography, and indecent printed images of minors.
Specifically, he pleaded guilty to seven counts of distributing Category C images, six counts of making indecent images of children, four counts of possessing indecent images, two counts of possessing prohibited images, three counts of possessing extreme pornography, and three counts of possessing indecent printed images of children.
Judge Andrew Bright QC presided over the case and decided to adjourn sentencing until October 16.
This delay allows for the preparation of reports that will likely influence the severity of Jackson’s sentence.
Meanwhile, Jackson remains in custody, awaiting the court’s final decision on his fate.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the nature and volume of the images involved, as well as the length of time over which these alleged activities took place.
