MAN ADMITS HAVING INDECENT CHILD PHOTOGRAPHS, THREATENING TO SHARE INTIMATE IMAGE
A man has admitted having indecent child photographs in Watford and threatening to share an intimate image.Mohammed Vasim, of Spinney Lane, Huntingdon, appeared in St Albans Magistrates’ Court today (March 5) via video link and pleaded guilty to all offences, committed between April 30, 2024, and August 14, 2025.
The 24-year-old had engaged in controlling or coercive behaviour towards a victim he was in an intimate relationship with in Watford, including dictating what she was permitted to wear, who she could see, and when she could leave home.
On August 5, 2024, he had threatened to share an image which showed the same individual in an intimate state.
Six of the charges related to having indecent images of a child, including 343 of category A – the most serious kind – on one device and 342 on another.
Vasim also had 62 category B images on one device and 51 on another, as well as 661 category C on one device and 569 on another.
The charges were committed to Reading Crown Court for sentencing on March 26, as a separate hearing over similar charges was awaiting the outcome of today’s appearance at that court.
The victim has reached the age of 18 since the offences took place.
All offences were listed as having taken place in Watford.
