WATFORD PAEDOPHILE, 74, AVOIDS PRISON OVER EIGHT CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A Watford paedophile has been given a suspended sentence after admitting to eight child sex offences.John McShane, of Charter Place, appeared at St Albans Crown Court on March 31.
The 74-year-old has been given a three-year prison sentence, suspended for 24 months, after being caught by a sting run by the vigilante group Fleetwood Enforcers UK.
He pleaded guilty to the following offences: - Adult attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child - Attempting to cause/incite a girl 13-15 to engage in sexual activity - Adult attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child - Attempting to arrange/facilitate the commission of sexual activity in the presence of a child/cause the child to watch a sexual act - Attempting to cause/incite a female child under 13 to engage in sexual activity - Adult attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child - Attempt to cause/incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity - Adult attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child In addition to the suspended sentence, McShane has been ordered to do 280 hours of unpaid work, spend 15 days on a rehabilitation activity, and pay a £180 surcharge.
He has had his phone confiscated and must register with the police indefinitely, with a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order in place.
