FRAUDSTER WHO TARGETED THE ELDERLY
A man involved in fraud targeting elderly customers received a 17-month jail term following his thefts outside supermarkets in Watford and other areas.At Reading Crown Court on October 23, Shehzada Nawaz, 41, was convicted on nine counts of theft and eight of fraud by false representation.
He pleaded guilty to these charges.
According to the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit, Nawaz’s tactic was to wait until seniors used cash points, then obstruct them by claiming the machines were out of order, facilitating his fraudulent activity.
