PATRICK TAMAS FROM BOLTON AND HALLIWELL JAILED FOR MULTIPLE INDECENT EXPOSURES

In a disturbing series of incidents that caused significant concern within the local communities, Patrick Tamas, an 18-year-old resident of Merehall Close in Bolton, was convicted and sentenced for multiple counts of indecent exposure across the Bolton and Halliwell areas. The sequence of events unfolded over two consecutive days, beginning on the evening of October 26, when Tamas targeted a young girl in the Brownlow Way neighborhood of Halliwell.

According to reports, at approximately 7 pm, Tamas exposed himself to a 12-year-old girl, an act that understandably caused alarm and distress among residents and parents in the vicinity. The following day, just two hours later, he committed a similar offense in Shepherds Cross Street, also within Halliwell, where he made a 17-year-old girl his second victim. These repeated incidents heightened community fears and drew the attention of local authorities.

The troubling pattern continued on October 27, when Tamas was seen flashing a 32-year-old woman in Thynne Street, Great Lever, at around 7:45 pm. The series of exposures, spanning different locations and involving victims of varying ages, underscored the seriousness of Tamas's actions and the threat he posed to public safety.

Following a thorough investigation, Bolton Crown Court sentenced Tamas on November 12. He received a 12-month prison sentence for his offenses. Additionally, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for a period of ten years, a measure intended to monitor and prevent further offending. The court's decision reflects the gravity with which the judicial system views such violations and the importance of community safety.

Detective Sergeant Patrick Wood commented on the case, emphasizing the impact of Tamas's actions: “These exposures caused a great deal of distress and anxiety in the local area, particularly among women and parents given the ages of two of the victims. Although this investigation has now been completed, we are keeping an open mind that there may be other victims, who for whatever reason have not come forward to the police.”

He further urged anyone who might have been targeted or witnessed similar incidents to come forward: “I would like to appeal to anyone who may have been a victim of indecent exposure to speak to us in confidence. Some may trivialize the offence of indecent exposure, but I want to assure the public that we take this type of incident extremely seriously. We will strive to safeguard our community and ensure offenders like Tamas are brought to justice.”
