STEVENAGE MAN HANDED LIFE IN PRISON FOR PROM NIGHT MURDER
Patrick Sharp-Meade, aged 20 and from Cutty's Lane in Stevenage, was convicted for the heinous killing of Kajetan Migdal. The 18-year-old, a talented dancer and previous contestant on BBC's Greatest Dancer, was stabbed in the chest with a large zombie knife during an unprovoked assault on May 27, 2022.
The incident occurred after he attended a school prom at Saint John Henry Newman Catholic School.
Sharp-Meade had wrongly assumed that Migdal and his companions had interacted with his former girlfriend.
At Luton Crown Court, he received a life sentence with a minimum term of 26 years and 12 days before he becomes eligible for parole.
Court proceedings revealed that Sharp-Meade had arrived at the scene wearing a balaclava and gloves, armed with a knife, intending to confront the teenagers over alleged contact with his ex-girlfriend.
Although his ex-partner told him that Migdal and his friends had done nothing wrong, he demanded their area of residence, searched for Kajetan's car keys, and, upon being unsatisfied with the answers, produced the knife.
He then fatally stabbed Kajetan and absconded with the weapon.
Jurors learned that Migdal was a well-respected young man adored by many in his community, serving as a role model.
His family described his death as tragic, senseless, and unprovoked, marking the loss of a kind and talented individual with much future potential.
Authorities emphasized that the attack stemmed from irrational jealousy and was completely unprovoked and unjustified.
