OLIVER WILSON SENTENCED IN EXETER FOR ABUSIVE AND CONTROLLING BEHAVIOR
A man known for very controlling and abusive conduct was sentenced to prison.Oliver Wilson, 30 years old, was involved in a six-month relationship during which he displayed extreme possessiveness and aggression.
He frequently accused his partner of infidelity, targeting supermarket workers and hospital staff as part of his accusations.
Wilson also hacked into her social media accounts and crafted fake posts suggesting she was having affairs with the husbands of her friends.
When she attempted to end the relationship and asked him to leave, he threatened to harm himself, exploiting her past emotional trauma following her previous boyfriend's suicide.
Wilson pleaded guilty to charges of controlling and coercive behavior as well as assault at her home in North West Devon.
The victim described Wilson as someone who regarded her not as a person but as an object to own and control.
She recalled his malicious language, calling her fat, a disreputable whore, and a slut seeking sex.
He isolated her from friends and family, which led her to consider suicide.
The court was told that Wilson physically assaulted her after a Halloween disco, pushing her into a wardrobe and covering her face with a pillow, telling her that 'everyone hated her.' The young mother also testified that he insulted her appearance, saying she looked 'like a whore fishing for d*ck' when she dressed up for going out.
Wilson told police he was 'obsessed with her' and admitted the relationship was 'toxic.' Exeter Crown Court sentenced him to 32 months in prison, describing his actions as 'pretty horrific domestic abuse' and stating that some of his degrading acts 'beggar belief.' A 15-year restraining order was also issued, preventing him from any contact with the victim.
