SOMALI RAPIST AND KIDNAPPER FROM NORTH LONDON FACES JAIL AGAIN
An offender named Abdi Waise, an illegal immigrant from Somalia who has been in Britain since he was 10, is set to serve time again after attempting to kidnap school children by masquerading as a police officer.
Waise had previously served six years in prison for raping a woman he abducted off the street in 2008.
Despite a human rights appeal in 2013 that prevented his deportation, he was released and only had been free for three weeks when he engaged in further criminal acts.
In January, Waise tried to abduct several young children in North London, offering money and drugs to lure them.
He pretended to be a police officer, telling a girl he was searching for his daughter, and attempted to search another girl’s bag.
He also stopped more children, accused them of buying drugs, and tried to convince some to come to his house for breakfast.
During the incident, he also targeted boys, offering money for them to help him lure girls, and was captured on CCTV attempting to grab one girl.
The prosecutor described his behaviour as using force and intimidation to stop children and divert them.
Fortunately, the children managed to escape and reported the incidents to authorities.
Waise was convicted at Wood Green Crown Court of supplying class-B drugs, one count of kidnap, and four counts of attempted kidnap.
