LUTON MAN CONVICTED OF LENGTHY CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE CAMPAIGNS
Oliver Wade, aged 37, known as the Luton Paedophile, committed abuse against a victim during the 1990s and 2000s.
Law enforcement became involved in 2020 after the victim, who is now an adult, bravely reported the abuse following years of suffering.
Wade was voluntarily interviewed in 2021, during which he denied all allegations.
After a lengthy investigation, he was formally charged in December 2023.
In April 2024, Wade was found guilty at Luton Crown Court of four offences, including attempted rape and sexual assault.
On June 27, 2024, he was sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison and was ordered to register on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Detective Constable David Widdicombe stated, “This has been a horrific case, and we hope this sentencing has brought some closure to the victim.
Oliver Wade’s ten-year campaign of abuse is shocking, and nobody should ever have to experience this.
We will continue to support the victim.” He also emphasized that victims can come forward at any time, and support is available.
