Abel-Jax Mailey passed away two days after being discovered unresponsive at a residence on Piccadilly Road in Burnley on 28 November 2021.
Oliver Mailey, aged 26, contacted emergency services to report finding his son in his crib, unresponsive and limp.
An autopsy concluded that Abel-Jax died due to a brain injury consistent with shaking.
The investigation also uncovered that the infant had multiple older injuries to his brain and ribs, which appeared to be healing from previous trauma caused by shaking, estimated to have occurred four to ten days prior to his death.
Mailey, who lived on Piccadilly Road, was convicted of murder at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday.
Prior to his trial, he admitted to manslaughter, acknowledging that he had shaken his son but insisted he did not intend to kill or seriously harm him.
During the trial’s initial day, Mailey admitted to the earlier shaking of Abel-Jax.
