BURNLEY STALKER LEFT VICTIM THREATENING MESSAGES IN 300 CALLS
A man bombarded his ex-partner with more than 300 phone calls in a seven-hour period.Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Glenn Porter also sent voice messages in which he threatened to kill her, stab her and burn her house down.
Porter, 44, of Parliament Street, Burnley, pleaded guilty to stalking and sending a communication threatening death or serious harm.
He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Sameena Bhatia, prosecuting, said the couple had been in a relationship for seven years, but she ended it after he assaulted and threatened her.
He was still allowed to visit her home so he could see their children.
"She made it clear that was no longer the case when he accused her of cheating on him," said Miss Bhatia.
"On March 27, he called her over 300 times, as well as leaving abusive and threatening messages." Bilal Rasool, by way of mitigation, said the relationship was fine in January and February, but March was the anniversary of the death of Porter's mother, and that affected his mental health.
"He doesn't recall making these calls or leaving these messages," said Mr Rasool.
"He tells me he needs some help."
