BURNLEY MAN JAILED OVER NON-RECENT CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A Burnley man who was found guilty of non-recent sex offences following a trial has been jailed.
Lee Parry, 34, was convicted by a jury in February of two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by penetration and one count of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching.
Parry committed these offences when he was 16 against a victim who was only eight years old.
The court reviewed a victim personal statement highlighting the lasting trauma, including flashbacks, depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
The judge noted that different sentencing principles apply for defendants under 16, and sentenced Parry to 25 months imprisonment, reduced from an original three-year sentence to reflect the totality of the offences.
Parry was also ordered to comply with 10 years of notification requirements, a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years, and an indefinite restraining order against the victim.
He had previous convictions, including one in 2025 for online child sex offences, leading to a two-and-a-half-year sentence.
