OBIDZANS BOBONAZAROVS SENTENCED IN CREWE FOR CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION CASE
In a significant case that has shocked the community of Crewe, Obidzans Bobonazarovs, a 56-year-old man residing on Rockwood Close, was handed a two-year suspended prison sentence during a hearing at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, March 23.The court proceedings revealed the disturbing details of his involvement in child sexual exploitation, which spanned over a period of two months in 2015.
Bobonazarovs had previously admitted to a total of 12 charges, including 11 counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under the age of 13, and one count of inciting a girl under 13 to participate in sexual acts.
These offences were committed against 13 children, all aged between nine and 12, with the incidents occurring between February and April of 2015.
The victims were from various parts of the country, highlighting the widespread nature of his offending.
As part of his sentencing, Bobonazarovs was ordered to participate in a Sex Offender Treatment Programme, a mandatory step aimed at addressing his conduct and preventing future offences.
Additionally, he will be registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register for a decade, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
The court’s decision underscores the seriousness of his crimes and the importance of safeguarding children from online predators.
According to a spokesperson for Cheshire Police, Bobonazarovs exploited social media platforms to carry out his illicit activities.
He used a webcam-based chat application to communicate with his victims, engaging in sexual activities via video calls.
The police statement detailed that he attempted to conceal his identity by hiding his face during these interactions.
Importantly, he never met any of the children in person, and all contact was maintained through digital means.
Further investigations revealed that Bobonazarovs accessed the profiles of multiple children unknown to him, using their profile names to initiate contact.
The victims reported their experiences to local police forces, which led to a thorough investigation.
The police arrested Bobonazarovs on June 22, 2015, and subsequent inquiries culminated in formal charges being brought against him in December 2016.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online predators and the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
