NICOLE BLAIN CONVICTED AFTER BABY THEA'S DEATH

BREAKING NEWS!

NICOLE BLAIN CONVICTED OF BATTERING 19 OLD DAY BABY TO DEATH!

A mother has been found guilty of murdering her defenceless 19-day-old baby girl, who suffered “catastrophic” injuries including broken ribs and three skull fractures.

Nicole Blain, 30, claimed she discovered newborn Thea Wilson lying on the floor of her flat in Greenock on 14 July 2023 — suggesting another child had dropped her.

But a jury at the High Court in Glasgow rejected her account and found her guilty of killing her own daughter.

The court heard Thea suffered devastating blunt force trauma, with injuries so severe experts said they were more consistent with a car crash than anything a child could have caused.

Some injuries also indicated the baby may have been violently shaken.

Doctors described the injuries as “non-survivable”.

In harrowing evidence, a witness told the court of a chilling phone call made shortly before the baby was rushed to hospital.

A relative said they heard a scream “like nothing I’ve ever heard before” — so loud and piercing they initially thought it came from an older child.

Instead, it was baby Thea.

Blain was heard saying: “I do not know what to do.” Despite repeated claims that another child was responsible, prosecutors dismantled her version of events.

Medical experts confirmed the injuries could not have been caused by a child.

Emergency services were called after a support worker arrived at the flat and found Thea cold, unresponsive, and an “awful colour”.

The baby died later that same day.

The trial also revealed Blain had been struggling after giving birth, telling others she was suffering from post-natal depression.

Text messages shown to the jury suggested she was finding it difficult to cope.

On the morning of Thea’s death, a social worker had visited and found the baby safely in her crib.

Hours later, she was fighting for her life.

Blain denied responsibility in court, claiming she had been asleep and believed the incident must have been a “tragic accident”.

The jury did not believe her.

As the guilty verdict was delivered, Blain broke down in tears, sobbing in the dock.

As she was led away to the cells, she shouted: “Tell my dad I love him.” Judge Lord Scott told the court she will be jailed for life when sentenced next month, but said further reports are needed before deciding how long she must serve before being considered for parole.

Baby Thea never stood a chance.

—————————————————————————————————— A 29-year-old woman named Nicole Blain is set to stand trial following charges of murdering her newborn daughter, Thea June Wilson.

The incident occurred at a residence in Greenock, Inverclyde, on July 14, 2023.

It is alleged that Blain repeatedly shook her infant and caused blunt force trauma, though the precise nature of the injuries has not been disclosed.

Prosecutors have indicated that Thea June was nearly three weeks old at the time of her death.

The case was brought before the Glasgow High Court, where Blain's legal team, led by Thomas Ross KC, entered a plea of not guilty.

The trial is scheduled to commence in April 2026, with an expected duration of approximately six days.

Some witnesses are anticipated to give evidence remotely during the proceedings.

The case has attracted significant public interest, and prior to the trial, a fundraiser was initiated to help cover funeral costs but was subsequently suspended.

The case remains under judicial review, with a short hearing held to establish the trial date.

Statements from the prosecutor, Mr.

Alan Cameron KC, have been included, along with details about the legal process and potential witnesses.
