A support worker was forced to change jobs after her client, Daniel Grace, stalked her over eight months, a court heard.Grace appeared at Kirklees Magistrates' Court via a video link from HMP Leeds and pleaded not guilty to an offence of stalking that occurred between January and September of the previous year.
Prosecutor Alex Bozman stated that Grace started by sending unwanted texts to the victim, asking her out.
When she clarified that their relationship was solely professional, the harassment continued, leading the victim to change her workplace.
It was also revealed that Grace sent her friend requests from Facebook profiles created under different aliases.
The court heard that in February, Grace showed up at her partner’s home, and later approached her at a different address following a chance meeting in Huddersfield.
Additionally, Grace sent her a handwritten letter while he was in prison.
The case was declined jurisdiction by magistrates and was transferred to Leeds Crown Court, where Grace, of Lansdowne Crescent in Bridlington, will appear for a hearing on June 21.
He was remanded in custody.
