NATHAN PARKER FROM DALTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD AND ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY AT CARLISLE CROWN COURT

In a series of disturbing criminal cases linked to Dalton, Nathan Parker has been at the center of multiple convictions involving the possession and creation of indecent images of children and animals. The most recent case culminated in his conviction at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court in January 2020, where he admitted to possessing nearly 900 indecent images, including those depicting children and animals.

On the morning of September 24, police officers conducted an unannounced raid at Parker’s residence, which was listed as Preston Prison. During the search, Parker made admissions to law enforcement, confessing that he had been viewing illicit images. Authorities seized two mobile phones, a laptop, a tablet, two storage devices, and a smartwatch. Subsequent examinations of these devices revealed the presence of numerous indecent images, with offenses dating back to between February 5, 2018, and July 12, 2019.

The court was informed that Parker, aged 26 at the time, had accumulated over 600 indecent photographs of children, alongside images involving animals. The case has been transferred to Carlisle Crown Court for sentencing scheduled for January 27. Parker’s criminal history includes a previous jail sentence from the previous year, where he was convicted of drawing images depicting child abuse and bestiality. Judge Peter Davies, who sentenced him then, described Parker as an “extremely disturbing young man,” emphasizing the severity of his offenses and noting that he drew sexually abusive images and bestial pictures for his own gratification.

Prior to these recent convictions, Parker had been a resident of Ennerdale Close in Dalton. His criminal record also includes a 24-month suspended prison sentence handed down by Judge Davies, which was based on his earlier offenses involving illicit images and drawings of child sexual abuse. The judge highlighted the grotesque nature of Parker’s crimes, stating, “These are grisly offences. You draw bestial pictures, sexually abusive images for your own delectation. You are an extremely disturbing young man.”

In April 2019, Parker was also sentenced for drawing illegal images of child abuse and bestiality. His history reveals that he was initially convicted in 2015 for possessing illicit images of children and extreme pornography. After breaching the terms of his punishment, he was sentenced to prison for making and possessing indecent movies and photographs of children. While incarcerated, he was found to have drawn pictures depicting child sexual abuse. Despite a community order being imposed, Parker was recalled to custody for failing to report to a bail hostel on time. He was released in 2017, but illegal drawings were again discovered in his bail hostel room and at his home in Dalton in January 2018.

Prosecutor Rachel Faux described Parker as “an artist with a particular interest in drawing pictures of child abuse and bestiality.” He admitted to possessing 40 prohibited images, some of which would have been classified as Category A if they depicted real children. Additionally, Parker breached a sexual harm prevention order related to his possession of an internet-enabled Nintendo DS console. Judge Davies, recognizing the gravity of these offenses, suspended a 24-month jail sentence for two years and ordered Parker to undertake 30 days of rehabilitation. He also mandated that Parker sign the sex offenders’ register for ten years.

Further back in April 2017, Parker was charged after being found with an image of a child while serving a prison sentence at Preston Prison. He appeared before Furness Magistrates’ Court at that time, facing charges of possessing a prohibited image of a child on December 17 of the previous year. Parker, then 23, had previously been jailed for 14 months in November 2016 after admitting to making 259 indecent images of children between August 2015 and April 2016, as well as possessing an extreme image involving intercourse with a horse and a prohibited image of a child.

Throughout his criminal history, Nathan Parker’s actions have demonstrated a disturbing pattern of sexual exploitation and abuse, with multiple convictions for possessing and creating illegal images involving children and animals. His latest sentencing at Carlisle Crown Court underscores the ongoing concern regarding his dangerous behavior and the need for continued monitoring and intervention to protect the community from further harm.
