YORK MAN ARRESTED IN CHILD SEX CHAT PROBE AFTER ONLINE STING A man from York has been arrested by police following allegations of sexual communication with a child after an investigation involving online paedophile hunters.Nathan Lacey, understood to be from the York area, was detained by officers at his home address after concerns were raised by members of Red Rose UK, a group known for carrying out online child protection stings.
The arrest follows an operation in which individuals posing as underage decoys engage with suspected offenders online before passing evidence to the authorities.
Police confirmed that a man was arrested on suspicion of sexual communication with a child.
He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Sources indicate that material gathered during the investigation has been handed over to police as part of an ongoing case.
Red Rose UK stated that safeguarding children remains their priority and that all evidence is compiled and submitted in line with legal processes.
At this stage, no charges have been confirmed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
