NATALIE AND GEOFF GREENAWAY FROM CHELMSFORD SENTENCED FOR CRUELTY TO ELDERLY DOG TAZ
In a heartbreaking case of animal neglect, Natalie Greenaway, born on September 30, 1981, and her partner Geoffrey Greenaway, both residents of 39 West Avenue in Chelmsford, Essex, faced severe legal consequences after failing to provide essential veterinary care for their elderly dog, Taz. The incident came to light in June 2023 when the RSPCA responded to a distress call at the Greenaways' residence, where they encountered Taz in a deplorable state of health.Upon inspection, Taz was found to be in a critically poor condition. She was severely underweight, with a body condition score of just 0.5 out of 5, making her ribs, hips, and spine painfully visible. Her back legs appeared deformed at the stifle joints, and she exhibited minimal muscle coverage, indicating prolonged neglect and suffering. The dog was in immense pain, suffering from multiple health issues that had gone untreated for an extended period.

During the court proceedings, the Greenaways admitted that they could have done much more to address Taz’s deteriorating health. They expressed regret, stating they had
