MAN WHO SET FIRE TO A WOMAN’S FAMILY HOME AND SUBJECTED HER TO A CAMPAIGN OF HARASSMENT AND ABUSE HAS BEEN JAILED FOR FOUR YEARS
A man responsible for setting fire to a woman’s family residence and subjecting her to a sustained campaign of harassment and abuse has received a four-year prison sentence.Harry Page, aged 24, was given his sentence at Chelmsford Crown Court after admitting to charges including arson, burglary, stalking that caused significant alarm or distress, assault, and the act of sharing private sexual images and videos with the intent to upset the victim.
In September 2021, while the woman was out dining with friends, a video call revealed Page inside her home in Chelmsford.
Police officers responded to the scene to find her bedroom destroyed, with damage estimated at hundreds of pounds.
While the woman was giving a statement at a nearby police station, Page called her phone more than forty times and sent threatening emails.
That same evening, officers noticed smoke coming from the back of her house and discovered a fire in the rear room.
Page later admitted to re-entering the property and setting it ablaze, which resulted in property damage exceeding £200,000.
The woman reported ongoing harassment and harassment over several months before Page was arrested, charged, and held in custody a few days later.
