CHELMSFORD MAN JAILED FOR STALKING AND THREATS TO VICTIM
A stalker who spent hours waiting outside his victim's home has been jailed.In October 2025, Collin Goodwin sent his victim more than 1000 unwanted messages, some making threats towards her.
In one message he threatened to throw acid in her face.
He turned up outside her house multiple times, banging on the door.
On one occasion he stayed outside her address for two hours.
He also threatened to post intimate images of his victim online, before posting them on his former employer’s public Facebook page.
The victim reported the incidents and Blackpool CID launched an investigation.
Goodwin, 61, of Albramead, Chelmsford, Essex was arrested, and following a consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, charged with: stalking involving fear of violence, sharing a photograph or film of a person in an intimate state intending to cause alarm, distress or humiliation and threatening to share a photograph or film of a person in an intimate state.
He pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court this week and was sentenced to 30 months in prison and was handed a 10-year restraining order.
In a Victim Impact Statement to the court, the victim said: “His behaviour towards me has left me harmed, affected and with feelings of isolation.
I have suffered through his offending and feel I will continue to do so moving forward.” DC Rik Nicol of Blackpool CID said: “First and foremost I want to commend the victim in this case – she has displayed huge strength and bravery in reporting Goodwin’s offending.
“His disturbing behaviour has, understandably, impacted her life, causing her a significant amount of distress.
I do hope that the knowledge he has been brought to justice may aid her to begin to move forward with her life.”
