LUTON MAN BANNED FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY AFTER DOG TRAPPED IN AIR VENT
Montgomery Wandera, aged 24, of Biscot Road, Luton, has been prohibited from keeping animals for five years following an incident where his dog, Bounce, was found with its head trapped in a tumble dryer air vent. The RSPCA was alerted after the dog had been stuck in Thricknells Close since January of that year.
The dog was in distress, with its head protruding from the external wall, and needed assistance from firefighters and council officials to be freed.
The court also ordered Wandera to perform 100 hours of unpaid work and pay £500 in court costs.
The RSPCA highlighted that the dog, previously called Bounce, had essentially been left neglected without access to water or food for two days, and had been left unattended and in poor conditions, including being left with its head caught in the same vent on a prior occasion.
Wandera admitted to causing unnecessary suffering by confining the dog in an environment harmful to its well-being and explained that he had been away with friends and tried to return to care for the dog but was delayed due to a broken-down car.
The magistrates sentenced him accordingly, emphasizing his breach of duty of care.
