SICK RAPIST DRESSED AS A WOMAN TO SPY ON VICTIM BEFORE KEEPING HER AGAINST HER WILL
A sick rapist who dressed up as a woman to spy on his victim before attacking her at his flat has been jailed.Mohammed Umar Khan has been locked up for 16 years for the vile attack which saw him keep the woman at his home against her will and threaten to release a recording he had taken of her without her consent.
Bradford Crown Court heard that Khan, a former supermarket worker, began to "bombard" the woman with hundreds of messages before putting her through the terrifying ordeal in Halifax.
Prosecutor Stephen Littlewood told the court that in April last year, Khan asked her to attend his flat, which she did.
He subjected her to an ordeal of sexual violence, made a threat to distribute a sexual video taken without her consent, and said he would share it with her family if she didn't comply.
She was sexually assaulted and raped twice as she asked him to stop.
She feared he would ruin her life by sharing the video.
He didn't allow her to leave for a period and raped her again, telling her, "You're not telling anyone and if you do this video will go out." The victim opened up to her employer on the same day.
Her impact statement expressed feelings of being overwhelmed, sleepless nights, withdrawal from loved ones, health issues, and loss of her previous self.
Khan, with previous convictions for battery and coercive behavior, was convicted of rape, assault by penetration, false imprisonment, and coercive and controlling behavior.
He had been in custody since April 21, completed courses, and maintains a supportive relationship with his mother and children.
He was sentenced to 16 years, to serve two-thirds in prison, is on the Sex Offenders' Register for life, and has a restraining order against contact with the woman.
