MOHAMMED MIZANOOR RAHMAN
Mohammed Mizanoor Rahman, popularly known as Mizzy, was brought before the court accused of sexually assaulting a minor under the age of 13 and possessing indecent images of a child.
Rahman, who manages the Pangea restaurant located in Norton, is charged with three counts of sexual assault involving a child under 13 through inappropriate touching.
Additionally, he faces two charges related to the possession of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child.
The allegations relate to incidents that allegedly took place in Middlesbrough earlier this year.
The 34-year-old defendant, residing on Durham Street in Stockton, appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, April 15.
Rahman, who established the Pan-Asian restaurant Pangea on Norton Road in 2023, did not enter any pleas during the hearing.
The case has been transferred to Teesside Crown Court, where Rahman is scheduled to appear for a plea and case management hearing on Wednesday, May 13.
He remains in custody until that court date.
