BURNLEY MAN BREACHED RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST EX-PARTNER
A man breached a restraining order by turning up at his ex-partner's home and shouting through the letterbox in the early hours of the morning.
Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard the unwanted visit came nine days after the restraining order was made, following a conviction for using violence to secure entry to the same property in Burnley.
Mohammed Mahmud, 38, of no fixed address but from Burnley, pleaded guilty to breach of a restraining order.
He was remanded in custody for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Bilal Saeed, prosecuting, said the restraining order prohibited contact with the ex-partner or attending her property.
"In the early hours, he attended at her address," said Mr Saeed.
"He opened the letterbox and asked for another chance, and said he was hungry and asked for food." Laura Heywood, mitigating, said Mahmood had been with his partner for 15 years and the break-up meant he lost everything.
"He is now homeless, living on the streets, and taking drugs," said Miss Heywood.
"He needs assistance with his addiction and the whole situation he finds himself in."
