MOHAMMAD KEERPAH FROM GRAYS ADMITS TO SEX OFFENCES AND ONLINE GROOMING INVOLVING 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a recent court hearing held at Basildon Crown Court, Mohammad Keerpah, an 18-year-old resident with no fixed address, faced serious allegations related to child sex offences committed in the town of Grays. Keerpah appeared before the court on a Thursday, where he entered guilty pleas to six separate charges involving minors, specifically two girls aged 12 and 13.During the proceedings, Keerpah was accompanied by a translator, as he only responded to confirm his identity and to admit to the charges against him. The allegations against him include three counts of coercing two different girls into watching a sexually explicit video of him performing a sexual act. These acts took place on March 2 and 3 of this year, within the boundaries of Grays.
Furthermore, Keerpah admitted to engaging in sexual communication with the same two girls, despite knowing that they were under the age of 16. He acknowledged that he attempted to initiate and maintain sexual conversations with them through online messaging, which is a serious violation given the minors’ ages.
The sixth charge relates to a meeting with the 13-year-old girl following a period of sexual grooming. This meeting occurred on March 3, after Keerpah had sent her messages via Instagram, explicitly stating his desire to rape her. It was clear from the evidence that he was aware of her underage status at the time of these communications.
Throughout the hearing, Keerpah was dressed in a blue tracksuit and displayed little emotion. However, there was a moment when he was seen giggling as his translator spoke to him, which drew some attention. His legal representatives argued that there was no basis for a plea of innocence and that he was fully admitting to all charges without reservation.
The court has decided to postpone sentencing until June, allowing for a pre-sentencing report to be prepared. Judge John Lodge addressed Keerpah directly, emphasizing the gravity of the offences he had admitted to. The judge stated that Keerpah would remain in custody until his sentencing, which is scheduled for June 10.
Judge Lodge remarked, “Mr. Keerpah, you have pleaded guilty to a very serious set of matters. I do not want to sentence you until a report can be produced detailing the crimes and your attitude towards them.” He further explained that Keerpah would be remanded in custody until the sentencing date, which is less than a month away. The potential for a lengthy prison sentence remains, given the nature of the offences and the circumstances involved.
