SOUTH ESSEX MAN JAILED FOR BREACHING STALKING PROTECTION ORDER
A south Essex man has been jailed for breaching a stalking protection order.
Dean Hayes, 47, of Seally Road, Grays, was given the order at Southend Magistrates’ Court on June 18 2025, which banning him from contacting a female.
But within days, he had breached it.
He pleaded guilty to breaching the non-contact clause of the order between June 20 and September 26.
He was also convicted of driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance, as well as possessing cannabis.
Judge Samantha Cohen sentenced Hayes to 14 months in prison, with a nine-month driving ban to begin when he is released on licence.
His cannabis will be forfeited and destroyed.
Three more charges of breaching a stalking protection order, plus two of assaulting his victim and causing criminal damage to her car, were all allowed to lie on file.
