MAN IN LLANDUDNO JUNCTION SENTENCED TO 30 MONTHS FOR BRUTAL SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ASSAULT
A man cut off a woman's underwear with a bread knife during a brutal assault in an act of "gratuitous degradation".
Mitchell Morgan also punched the woman and sexually assaulted her.
The incident occurred after Morgan and the victim arrived separately at a North Wales flat on March 8 this year.
After another occupant of the flat went to bed, Morgan carried out the assault, which included punching the victim in the head, face, and body, biting her neck, and dragging her from the bed to stamp on her chest.
He then produced a bread knife and used it to cut her underwear.
The victim sustained injuries including a black eye, chipped tooth, bruised shoulder, tender ribs, and a neck bite.
Two days later, police arrested Morgan.
He pleaded guilty to assault, causing actual bodily harm, and sexual assault.
Morgan, 49, of Glyn-y-Marl Road, Llandudno Junction, was sentenced to 30 months in prison, with an additional 27-month sentence for breaching a restraining order to run concurrently.
The judge also ordered that Morgan would be subject to sex offender notification requirements for ten years and a new restraining order for ten years.
