BRIDLINGTON MAN JAILED FOR STALKING AFTER PLACING GPS DEVICE ON WOMAN'S CAR
A man aged 41, named Miles Bulmer and from Bridlington, received a 14-week jail sentence after authorities found he had tracked a woman to her residence by attaching a GPS device to her car.The incident left the victim feeling distressed and concerned for her safety.
In addition to his incarceration, Bulmer was issued a 52-week driving ban and a restraining order.
Police investigations uncovered that Bulmer had installed the tracking device on the victim’s vehicle, which was linked to his phone where a contact labeled "GPS" was identified.
Further searches of Bulmer’s property revealed items such as a baton and documents related to surveillance methods.
During court proceedings at York Magistrates Court, Bulmer admitted to the charge of stalking.
PC James Mills, who was involved in the case, commented, “Miles Bulmer’s conduct was covert and manipulative, causing the victim to feel alarmed and distressed.
The victim responsibly reported this to the police, and I commend them for that.
