PAISLEY WOMAN ORDERED TO UNDERTAKE ALCOHOL COUNSELLING AFTER BOTTLE ATTACK
A Paisley woman has been ordered to undertake alcohol counselling after hitting her partner on the head with a glass bottle.Michelle McGuire admitted she assaulted her partner on September 6, last year at the Glynhill Hotel in Renfrew.
The pair got into an argument and McGuire shouted “you’re a s***e ride” before striking him on the head with a glass bottle.
Ms Gilmour told the court: “Around 3.50am on December 22, the accused contacted police stating her ex-partner had breached his bail conditions and has contacted him.
Officers attended at the accused’s home where she gave permission for officers to view her phone.
Officers observed the accused call log and that she had made multiple calls to the man.
She was asked if she had contacted the man and she stated, ‘I have contacted him only because he has threatened suicide.’ Police attended and traced the accused who was heavily intoxicated.
McGuire, of Seedhill Road, was then granted bail on November 3, last year, at Paisley Sheriff Court with conditions not to approach or contact her partner.
However she breached this order on various occasions.
On December 6, the 44-year-old breached the order by being in the man’s company at an address in Esk Drive in Paisley.
Procurator fiscal depute Ms Gilmour told the court: “Around 5.40am, the male contacted 999.

During the call the male sounded intoxicated and refused to disclose his whereabouts however a female voice, now known to be a relative of the male, provided the address as her home address.
Also during the call the accused could be clearly heard disputing the allegations.
Police attended and traced the accused who was heavily intoxicated.

McGuire was taken to Greenock police station where she was held in custody to appear at this court.” She was then ordered to undertake alcohol counselling and wear a tag for six months, keeping her within her home address from 6pm to 6am each day, as an alternative to custody.
