MICHAEL WALKER FROM ANDOVER AND BRACKNELL JAILED FOR SHOCKING FILMING AND DISTRIBUTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Andover and Bracknell, Michael Walker, a 36-year-old man, was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of filming a 15-year-old girl in a state of undress and sharing the illicit material online. The incident, which took place between February and August of 2020, was uncovered by police after a thorough investigation into Walker’s online activities.Authorities traced a Twitter account linked to Walker through its IP address, leading to his arrest at his residence in Bracknell. During the subsequent search of his devices, officers discovered a disturbing collection of illegal content. Among the material found were eight indecent videos, two of which were classified as the most explicit type, along with 14 videos containing extreme pornography. Additionally, there were 67 indecent images and two more images depicting extreme pornographic content.
Further examination of Walker’s chat logs revealed that he had shared images of the girl with other Twitter users, some of whom appeared to be minors. The devices also contained altered images of the girl, edited to include other lewd and sexually explicit content. A particularly disturbing video showed Walker performing a sex act while wearing pink underwear. The investigation also uncovered sexually explicit conversations with a Twitter user who claimed to be only 13 years old.
During the court hearing, a victim statement was read aloud by prosecutor Alex Radley. The young girl expressed her trauma and fear, stating, “I was only 15. For days on end after I found out, I struggled and put on a brave face. I did not want to take a shower. All I wanted to do was cry for hours and hours. I just couldn’t believe it. I still feel scared even to this day. My anxiety is worse than ever. I want him to go to prison for as long as possible because I have to live with this forever.”
Judge Nawaz, presiding over the case, condemned Walker’s actions, describing them as revealing a “different side” of the defendant. The judge emphasized the severity of the distribution of the images, stating, “The most worrying part is that you distributed these images to others. I have no doubt that if you were not arrested, you would have continued to post [the images].”
Walker was sentenced to a total of 32 months in prison, convicted on three counts of making indecent images, one count of distributing indecent images, and one count of voyeurism. He is to serve half of this sentence in custody before being eligible for release. Additionally, he will be required to sign the sex offenders register for a period of ten years, marking a significant and serious consequence for his actions.
