EX-SCOUT LEADER FROM NORTH WALES CHARGED WITH HISTORIC SEX OFFENCES
A former Scout leader from North Wales has been charged as part of an investigation into alleged historic sexual abuse.Michael Owens, of Megs Lane, Buckley, has been charged with 16 sex offences against a boy.
The offences are alleged to have occurred during the 1980s in the Blackpool and Fylde areas when Owens was a Scout leader.
The alleged victim is said to have been aged 11 or under.
Owens is due to appear at Lancaster Magistrates Court on April 13.
On Facebook, Blackpool Police said: "We have charged a man as part of an investigation into alleged historic sexual abuse.
Michael Owens, 63, has been charged with three counts of buggery and 13 counts of indecent assault on a male child.
"The offences are alleged to have happened in the Blackpool and Fylde areas in the 1980s when Owens was a scout leader and the alleged victim was aged 11 or under." "Owens, of Megs Lane, Buckley, Clwyd, will appear at Lancaster Magistrates Court on 13th April."
