BENJAMIN JONES FROM BUCKLEY FACES FINE AFTER FAILURE TO COMPLETE UNPAID WORK IN FLINTSHIRE
Benjamin Jones, a resident of Cromwell Avenue in Buckley, has found himself in legal trouble once again, this time for failing to fulfill court-mandated unpaid work obligations. The incident took place in Flintshire, where Jones appeared before Mold Crown Court on Tuesday, January 7, to address a breach of his suspended sentence.Jones, aged 31, was originally sentenced on January 31, 2024, after being convicted on multiple charges related to child exploitation. Specifically, he was found guilty of three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child and one count of distributing such photographs. His sentence was a two-year suspended term, which also included a requirement to complete 150 hours of unpaid community work.
However, the court was informed that Jones failed to attend a scheduled unpaid work session on November 10, 2024. This absence constituted a breach of the conditions attached to his suspended sentence, raising concerns about his compliance with court orders. Despite this setback, Jones has since attended 14 additional appointments and has managed to complete a total of 87 hours of unpaid work.
During the hearing, Judge Niclas Parry addressed Jones directly, warning him that he was 'on thin ice' due to his breach of the court's orders. Nevertheless, the judge acknowledged Jones's efforts to rectify his situation, stating, 'Thankfully, you have responded well since the breach and you have worked hard to earn a chance.'
As a consequence of his failure to attend the initial appointment, Jones was fined £140. Additionally, the court ordered that 20 more hours of unpaid work be added to his existing requirement, emphasizing the importance of compliance with judicial directives in cases involving serious offenses.
