On Monday, February 16, James Roberts of Meg’s Lane, Buckley, attended Mold Crown Court to face sentencing.
He had previously been found guilty following a five-day trial of multiple charges, including engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, two counts of deliberate strangulation, and two counts of assault resulting in bodily harm.
The court was told that these offences took place over the course of nearly two years, from March 2022 until February 2024.
Judge Simon Mills described the strangulation offences as “very wicked”, and Roberts as “jealous, possessive and violent”.
He jailed Roberts for two years and made him subject to a seven-year domestic abuse protection order.
