TROON MAN JAILED FOR YEARS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE
A MAN who domestically abused three women over a period of ten years has been described as a 'serial abuser'.Michael McMillan, of Fairway View, Prestwick, has been sentenced to three years in prison for abusing the woman between 2006 and 2016.
McMillan admitted to almost killing his then partner, Susan Vickery, at various properties in Troon, Ayr, and Prestwick by shouting, swearing, pushing her down a flight of stairs, chasing her from her house, and placing his hands around her throat to restrict her breathing.
He also admitted pushing her to the floor, locking her in a bedroom, repeatedly pulling the bedclothes from her, seizing her ankles, pulling her from the bed, dragging her across the floor, and down a flight of stairs.
The assaults occurred on various occasions between July 2006 and October 2009, until Susan left him.
He also subjected his next partner, who wishes to remain unnamed, to domestic violence from September 2013 to October 2014.
His actions included shutting a door on her arm, pushing her, attempting to push her down stairs, pushing against walls, pinning her, pushing her into the road in front of traffic, and repeatedly punching her head, pulling her from a bed, seizing her feet, and hitting her with an iPad, leaving her permanently disfigured.
Between January and May 2023, he assaulted another woman he was involved with, pulling her to the floor, grabbing her by the hair, throwing her onto the bed, struggling with her, and causing injuries including a head injury.
McMillan also seized a telephone used to call 999 and broke it.
He appeared before Ayr Sheriff Court, where Sheriff Desmond Leslie sentenced him, citing his history as a 'serial abuser' with a catalogue of abuse dating back to 2006.
The sheriff described him as an intelligent, charming individual who is dangerous when under the influence of alcohol.
McMillan was jailed for three years, with one year of supervision afterward, and ordered not to contact two of the women for five years.
