MICHAEL FEENEY, THE CANNOCK PAEDOPHILE, NOW MISSING IN STOKE-ON-TRENT AND BEYOND
In a disturbing development in ongoing efforts to locate a convicted sex offender, authorities have issued a renewed appeal for Michael Feeney, a man with a troubling history of abusing young girls in Cannock, Staffordshire.The case has taken a new turn as it appears Feeney may now be residing in Stoke-on-Trent, raising concerns about his whereabouts and the potential risk to the community.
Michael Feeney, aged 50, was previously convicted of multiple offences related to indecency with minors.
In 1996, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of seven separate counts of indecency involving young girls.
His criminal activities primarily took place in Cannock, where he would target girls walking to school.
According to reports, Feeney would approach these young victims, often offering them alcohol to lower their inhibitions before taking them to a caravan located in nearby Shropshire, where the assaults occurred.
Following his release from prison, Feeney was mandated to register with Staffordshire Police as a sex offender.
However, in 2000, he failed to comply with this legal requirement, a serious breach that prompted authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest in January 2001.
Despite this, efforts to locate him have so far been unsuccessful.
Detective Superintendent Paul Davey of Staffordshire Police confirmed that extensive investigations, both within the UK and internationally, have failed to produce any leads on his current whereabouts.
In an effort to gather public assistance, an appeal was broadcast on BBC One’s Crimewatch programme on Wednesday.
The appeal prompted several viewers to contact authorities, claiming to have seen Feeney in Stoke-on-Trent.
This new information has intensified the search, as law enforcement officials are now focusing on the possibility that Feeney may be living in or around Stoke-on-Trent, potentially posing a continued threat to vulnerable young girls.
Authorities continue to urge anyone with information about Michael Feeney’s location to come forward.
The case remains open, and police are working tirelessly to ensure he is brought to justice and held accountable for his past crimes.
