MAN JAILED FOR BREACHING SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER
A resident of Cannock has been sentenced to over two years in prison for violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Neil Fillingham, aged 45, received a sentence of two years and eight months at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday, 30 April.
He pleaded guilty to 11 counts of breaching the SHPO, along with a single charge of failing to meet notification obligations on the sex offenders register.
In January 2024, Fillingham was originally given a 16-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after admitting to offenses that involved encouraging a child to partake in sexual activities and engaging in sexual communication with a minor.
Additionally, he was issued a 10-year SHPO as part of his punishment.
Last year in January, authorities received reports indicating that Fillingham might have been communicating with minors via Instagram and Kik messaging platforms.
Following evidence collection, authorities arrested him at his residence and confiscated his mobile device.
Investigators recovered messages from the phone that had been previously deleted.
He was also detained on another occasion after further evidence suggested he was using multiple electronic devices to interact with individuals online.
Devices such as an iPhone and an iPad, supplied to him by his employer, were seized.
Fillingham had not disclosed his access to these devices, which constituted a breach of his SHPO conditions.
He is now serving time in custody.
